Ordering
Choose your fabric, then your curtain style, then enter your finished measurements. The calculator shows your price once all fields are complete. Once you are happy, add to basket and check out. You will receive an order confirmation email straight away.
Yes. Our calculator covers most window sizes, but if your window is unusual, oversized, or shaped in a way our tool cannot handle, please write to us at hello@baywellstudio.co.uk before ordering. We will discuss what is possible and provide a quote.
You have a 48-hour grace period from the moment you receive your order confirmation. Within this window, please write to hello@baywellstudio.co.uk and we can change fabric, style, or measurements, or cancel the order entirely. After 48 hours we begin cutting fabric and changes are no longer possible.
Yes. Add each window as a separate order line with its individual measurements.
Fabric and samples
Yes, and we strongly recommend it. Samples are £2 each with free UK delivery. Colours may appear differently on screen and cannot always be represented accurately. We recommend ordering samples to see the true colour, texture and weight in your own home before placing an order.
Linen and cotton are natural fibres woven in batches, so subtle differences from one batch to the next are completely normal. These natural variations are part of the beauty and character of the cloth and are not considered defects.
Our collection is a small, carefully chosen selection of two natural linens and three cottons. For more details please see our fabrics page.
All natural fibres soften and gently shift in tone with time and light exposure. This is part of their beauty and is not a fault. Follow the care instructions supplied with your curtains to best look after them. We always recommend gentle spot cleaning over washing to avoid shrinkage.
Measurements
Please see our measuring guide, which walks through each of our heading styles step by step. In short, measure from where you would like the top of the curtain to sit down to where you would like the hem to fall, and measure the width of the curtain rod between finials or brackets. Take each measurement twice to be sure.
We cannot accept responsibility for curtains that do not fit where the measurements supplied were incorrect. Please take care, and always double check.
No. Enter your finished measurements exactly as you would like the curtain to hang. We add the appropriate hem, header, and fabric fullness during making, based on the style you have chosen.
Making and lead times
Our current lead time is 3 to 4 weeks from order confirmation to dispatch. This is an estimate. During busy periods it may take slightly longer, and we will contact you if a significant delay is likely.
Occasionally, yes. If you have a deadline, please write to us before ordering with the date you need the curtains by. We will let you know honestly whether it is possible and, if so, whether it involves any additional cost.
Every curtain is made by hand by Sarah-Jane in our Charlbury studio. She sews each order individually, one at a time. This is why we ask for a little patience with lead times, and it is also why every curtain carries the mark of a maker rather than a machine.
Delivery
We ship to addresses in the United Kingdom as standard. Delivery to the rest of the world is available on request; please write to hello@baywellstudio.co.uk before ordering if you are outside the UK and we will provide a quote.
UK delivery of curtains is a flat £7.50 per order, sent by Royal Mail Tracked 48 with signature required. Fabric samples are £2 each with free UK delivery.
Yes. When your order is dispatched, we will email you the tracking number so you can follow its progress and arrange to be at home for the signature.
Royal Mail Tracked 48 requires a signature. If you are not home, the carrier will leave a card and you can rearrange delivery or collect from your local sorting office.
Returns and refunds
Because each curtain is made specifically for you, made-to-measure orders are exempt from the standard 14-day right to cancel under UK consumer law. We do offer a 48-hour grace period after order confirmation during which you can cancel for a full refund. Please see our Refund Policy for the full details.
Please inspect your order promptly and write to hello@baywellstudio.co.uk within 48 hours of delivery with photographs of both the packaging and the item.
If your order arrives faulty or has been made incorrectly, please write to us within 30 days of delivery with photographs and a short description. Where a genuine fault exists, we will repair, replace, or refund the item in line with your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Full detail is in our Refund Policy.
Care
Care instructions are supplied with every order. In general, we recommend gentle spot cleaning where possible. Please follow the specific guidance on the care tag; washing may result in shrinkage or changes to the fabric. Damage caused by washing is not covered by our fault policy.
Yes, your curtain will love a gentle iron or steam to refresh it after delivery.
We recommend installing your pole at the same time as hanging your curtain so you can get the desired look.
